Both are equally important.
Formal education forms the foundation and separates one from the crowd, but skills are what you will finally acquire and require.

You learn. You grow personally. You form relationships. You achieve more than you would individually.

You get to implement ideas others might think unfeasible. You can set your own rules. You don't have to share the rewards (except with the tax-men!)
What was your worst working experience?
None so far were particularly bad. I can handle disinterested, or bullying bosses, insubordinate subordinates and malicious co-workers.
What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?
Hard work and integrity ultimately pay most.

I am an excellent communicator in the written form. I am optimistic and resilient.
What would you consider as your 'dream job'?
One that would give me a large and varied diagnostic workload, with ample teaching and research opportunities.
What are the most interesting aspects of your field?
It require constant learning, lends itself to automation and quality control and involves working closely with interesting people and helps me make a real difference to other people.
Wjat are the least interesting aspects of your field?
Its sometimes very very hard work.
